Course Description

This course equips elementary teachers with the theoretical  understanding and practical skills to use concept mapping as both  a cognitive learning tool and a curriculum design  strategy within thematic, interdisciplinary teaching. Participants will  explore frameworks from constructivism, schema theory, and  meaningful learning; apply concept mapping to lesson planning,  instruction, and assessment; and collaboratively design thematic units  integrating mathematics, science, and social studies.
